The prestigious Jambo Zoo project is all set for completion in December 2020 as the SAC has approved an amount of 49.17 crore under Infrastructure development Finance Corporation for the completion of balance works for the Zoo. The Jambo Zoo shall have 5 artificial lakes and a lake view restaurant with a sitting capacity of 100 persons. The Zoo shall have a parking of 300 vehicles.

It is noteworthy the Jambo Zoo shall have the biggest bird Aviary in Asia where thousands of migratory birds shall be housed. It shall have Lion, Tigers, leopard, Gariyal, Jackal, Bear, reptiles among other wild animals which shall act as a attraction inside the Zoo. The Zoo shall have a constructed road of 7 Kms which will cover a total of 162 hectares of land. It shall have staff quarters and Animal kitchen so as to meet all the needs of animals promptly. The huge 358 feet Gate to welcome the tourists in Jambu Zoo is also a added attraction. 

The Governor's Administration has taken several steps like completion of Cable car in Patnitop, Peerkho- Mohmaya Temple among others steps to promote tourism in Jammu region. Businessmen and Hoteliers in Jammu have often complained that tourism in Jammu region is not being promoted. 

With the completion of Jambu Zoo the tourism in Jammu region is expected to get huge phillip as tourist travelling towards Vaishno Devi and the local population shall have a new and attractive destination to visit.
